Certification of conveyor systems

Conveyor system includes several elements working together in order to ensure safe transportation of products within a manufacturing site. In most cases it is possible to certify the whole system by obtaining just one approval.

The main technical regulation which states  quality requirements for such equipment is TR CU "On safety of machinery and equipment" (ТR СU 010/2011). A declaration of conformity is sufficient in order to confirm the quality of the system.

Obviously it is necessary to analyze what elements and devices are used in each particular conveyor system because some parts may be explosion-proof or operate  under excessive pressure. Then just for these elements a document of conformity with related Technical Regulation should be obtained. Moreover, if the equipment is used in hazardous manufacturing sites then documents from RosTechNadzor may be required.

In practice most conveyor systems are either unique (in other words it is one-of-a-kind piece of equipment) or shipped in one consignment. To that end it is reasonable to obtain a declaration of conformity for single consignment/single piece of equipment with subsequent indication of serial/factory number. In case such information is unavailable (e.g. the conveyor system is custom-built), it is possible to obtain declaration for serial production for one year as this scheme of certification does not require indication of serial number.

Other factor which is to be considered is the field of application. For example, systems used for food industry require additional sanitary quality confirmation. A sample of each part which is in direct contact with food is tested and then test reports are issued.
