Basically, there are two systems of quality confirmation effective in the territory of The Russian Federation:

• 1.       GOST R system on a national level

• 2.       EAC (TR CU) system introduced by the Customs Union

GOST R system

There is a common misbelief that GOST R system became obsolete and ceased to exist. However, there are still certain groups of products which require mandatory GOST R quality confirmation such as polyethylene pipes, steel ropes, high voltage equipment, medical equipment, household chemicals and fertilizers.  Click here to find out more.

EAC (TR CU) system

Since the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union took effect, national standards are gradually being replaced by EAC standards. However, that does not mean that GOST R system is becoming obsolete. For more detailed information click here. Currently 34 Technical Regulations have taken effect. 22 more will be enacted.
